Wrote this poem after making a headband to match pants I made. I was so tired all afternoon but tonight, the creativity was flowing.

A whole new side of me is coming alive.

She's always been in there,
I've danced with her before.
But this is something different.
This time there's more.

The creative fire burns
It burns until I move
It's not a decision I make
It's a current I answer

A need that pricks my skin
A craving that vibrates my bones
Like a fix, I chase the high of making

To come home to myself

Wild Wednesday magic. 🌱🌀✨️

I found myself in the creative flow once again today—DIY fashion has my heart lately!

I had these two clothing pieces I didn’t love. The short overalls were a cute idea, but after wearing them a couple times, I realized they just don’t really suit me. And the dress? Never wore it—shows too much back for my current bod. 🤣

But when I got rid of the parts that weren’t serving me and kept what felt good—followed what felt light and fun—it turned into something I adore.
Kind of feels like a metaphor for life. 🧡

Honestly, I just wanna frolic in a forest lately… and I’d totally do it in this. 😀🧚‍♀️

I found myself in the creative flow once again today—DIY fashion has my heart lately!

2023, we took a field trip to Belle Isle that was simply the worst. 🤣😬👀

I ran over a HUGE nail and got a flat tire on the way. I got lost - couldn't find Grant's class and looped around and around (since it's one way), eventually finding them but being super late to lunch. Later that night I was so in my feels I wanted to write about it. I remember writing the words "Maybe I'm just not a field trip mom." I remember this because before I could realize what was happening, Grant looked over my shoulder, read my words and said "What do you mean you're not a field trip mom?" I couldn't have felt worse.

Imagine my reaction when I heard we were going to Belle Isle again. 🤣 I was like dang I think I might have some trauma from the last time. Lol. But today I was reminded how perspective is everything! This wasn't going to be another field trip filled with mishaps. It was an opportunity to have a different experience. A corrective experience. And that we did.

I'm doing this "Dress Up Challenge" and I totally used styling to help me embody the energy I wanted to bring today! I wanted to be comfy and effortless. Soft and strong. Belle Isle would not get the best of me today. 🤣 I chose mauves and florals with contrasting army green and camo, finished with a gold hoop earring. It was actually really fun looking at my closet with fresh eyes and seeing what I could pair together that I normally wouldn't. I'm finding that taking just a liiiiitle more effort can totally change how you feel. And that makes you more magnetic. 🧲

Today I DIY'ed a sweet lil babydoll dress just for the fun of it. 💃 And also because I'm stepping into the version of me I want to be...playful, fun, funky, creative.

The things we make — with our hands, our hearts, our creativity — have a kind of magic that's hard to translate into words.

I was daydreaming of making a skirt like this for weeks, but something wasn't quite right yet. The idea wasn't ready to be birthed. Until it was! I suddenly realized who it was for and I lit up - now it all made sense! This was for a very special little girl's 2nd birthday (HBD again Joey!). 🥰

This was pure joy. From the spark of an idea to the last stitch. Messy, wild, fun!

Not my typical read, but when I saw reviews that said things like "a message of kindness and love" and "heartwarming as hell," I knew this was exactly what I needed. I'm only about 1/4 of the way in but loving it so much!

For a fleeting moment this morning, the sky pulled my eyes to a tender lavender glow. These little bits of magic never get old. ✨️💜

This evening I stopped in a resale shop I'd been wanting to check out, and realized it was their last night in business.The sun was setting on what was once someone's dream, and the words that she humbly said were about letting God lead.

The sign out front made me smile, as I boycott retail oligopaly and try on a new style. More resale. More small businesses. More community. More creating.

With that being said, if anyone has any bedsheets or curtains they want to part with that would make cute clothes, I'd love them. I'm going Sound of Music on you guys. 🤣💃

These pants? They're creative expression. They're movement. They remind me I don't have to wait for circumstances to be perfect or life to feel magical - I can make it so. They remind me to keep going when I make mistakes or things get tough. The end result is worth it.

You were born to be free. Dance in your own design. Live your life fully. Feel fully alive.

I've only had my current business name for … a little over a year? I've heard so many things to not do in the world of entrepreneurship, one of them being "don't change too often." That literally feels like death to me. What if part of the reason I'm here is to offer people permission to change?! Also - part of what I do is to help women break free from rules they never agreed to. So why would I follow any rule that doesn't align with the fabric of my being? Know the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist.

While I really do love the name Bedrock Body, and will probably use it for a future program name (maybe even my signature coaching program), something new settled in my soul that felt even juicier.

INHABIT Healing.

Inhabit: To be present in or occupy in any manner or form.

We live in a culture of detachment and disconnection, and I don't believe it's our natural state - it's been designed this way. The way to heal is through the body. To be FULLY IN the body, fully in the spaces we occupy.

At one time, I shied away from the word healer/healing, but I'm just gonna fully own it now because I know that's what I help people with, and it's what's needed at this time. I can't solve all the world's problems, but I can continue to do my work in my small corner of the world, and that's what I plan to do.

While Bedrock Body acknowledges that the body is the foundation for healing, Inhabit is not only about being present in your body, but allowing healing to be a way of life. With Inhabit, there's a sense that healing is part of who you are - it's not something outside of you to be chased. It's settling into yourself. Sinking in. Soaking in every drop. Living a life that is drip down your chin good and messy. One where ALL parts of you are welcome. It's coming home to your body. Remembering who you are and what it means to feel safe, whole, and FULLY ALIVE.

"To be lost is to learn the way."

Grant and I had a movie date to see Mufasa, and this quote reached out and grabbed me and I wanted to share so I wouldn't forget it. 🥰

I've felt lost a lot of times in my life, and while it usually feels scary and not so good in the moment, looking back I can see the unfolding that happened and the lessons learned. I can see how feeling lost actually led to a process of self discovery where I was led to insights and places I never would have gone if I hadn't went through the process.

I also loved in the movie how Esche guides Mufasa to be present with what he feels. By being present in the moment and tuning in, he can tell there are antelopes a half day away. He can feel the way their hooves hit the ground and the way the wind hits their antlers and knows he's right. He knows Sarabi comes from a field with duckflowers everywhere because he can smell them on her as she walks by. He says they have long stems and are absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't help but see Mufasa as a romantic! Poetic...he's a noticer.

Grant and I both loved it. All these years later and Lion King is still pulling on my heart strings. 🥰🦁
